A number of reports from Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer indicate that WWE NXT will not be changing the format of the broadcast when it debuts on USA Network on September 18.Â
The only thing changing right now is the fact it will be a live two-hour broadcast, but not much else is flagged for change at this stage.
The current broadcast team of Mauro Ranallo, Nigel McGuinness, and Beth Phoenix will reportedly continue to host NXT although Meltzer did note the history between Vince McMahon and Ranallo, which might cause an issue if McMahon was involved with the brand.
Meltzer stressed McMahon is not currently expected to be "hands-on" with the brand as his focus will be Raw, SmackDown and the relaunch of the XFL, so the commentary team look safe for now.
This being said, NXT will be going head to head with AEW on TNT from October and the threat of another ratings war might force change in NXT and McMahon may have to get involved at some stage.
Interesting times ahead...
