Eric Bischoff: I Have A Lot To Learn Before Taking Over SmackDown Live

WWE SmackDown Live Executive Director Eric Bischoff has said he has a lot to learn before taking over the blue brand later this month.

Bischoff, 64, was announced as the show's Executive Director last month alongside Paul Heyman who will take over Monday Night RAW in the same role.

Speaking on 'After 83 Weeks with Christy Olson', the podcast about his own podcast, Bischoff admitted he had a lot to learn between now and when he is fully integrated into the process.

He said: "The audience has changed. Television has changed. So much has changed over the last five or seven years that I've got some catching up to do."

The WCW magnate, who was fired as RAW General Manager in late-2005, also said he will not be at this Sunday's Extreme Rules pay per view.

"I'll be driving on Sunday. It's going to take me five days, it's like 2000 miles and I've got a couple stops I want to make a longer wait," he said.

The SmackDown Executive Director also spoke about his goals for the new role after the demise of WCW in 2001.

He said: "What can I do to meet and exceed everybody's expectations? That's really the way I look at it.

"I'm really not looking at it within the context of anything else that's ever happened before."
