On tonight’s edition of WWE Monday Night Raw, General Manager Kurt Angle announced that as of Sunday night’s Extreme a Rules event, he had heard nothing from either Universal Champion Brock Lesnar or Paul Heyman despite issuing an ultimatum to Lesnar to either appear on Raw tonight or agree to terms of his next title defense, with Lesnar being stripped of the title if neither happened.
As Angle was about to announce that Lesnar was stripped of the title, Heyman made his way to the ring and claimed that Lesnar loved being part of WWE and even suggested that Lesnar could become the next UFC Heavyweight Champion while representing WWE. Angle responded by saying that either Lesnar will defend the Universal Championship At SummerSlam or he would no longer be champion. Heyman agreed to the title defense, and soon after, multiple Raw Superstars came to the ring to plead their case to challenge for the title.
Angle has responded by making two Triple Threat Matches for tonight’s broadcast: Seth Rollins vs. Elias vs. Bobby Lashley and Finn Balor vs. Drew McIntyre vs. Roman Reigns, with the winners of those matches facing each other next week to determine who will challenge Lesnar for the Universal Championship At SummerSlam.
