As previously reported, during Sunday night's WWE SmackDown LIVE-exclusive Money in the Bank event, Carmella was declared to be the winner of the first-ever Women's Money in the Bank Ladder Match, but only after James Ellsworth involved himself in the match by tipping Becky Lynch off of the ladder as she was climbing it, then climbing the ladder himself and detaching the briefcase before dropping it into Carmella's hands. The controversial finish of the match has since had many fans up in arms.
During an appearance on The LAW: Live Audio Wrestling, The Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer made the speculation that WWE officials may be planning to hold a rematch from Sunday night's event. As previously announced, Daniel Bryan is scheduled to return to this coming Tuesday night's edition of SmackDown LIVE and stated on his official Twitter page that the controversial ending of Sunday night's match would be the first thing addressed on the broadcast, which may include an announcement regarding a potential rematch for the briefcase. According to Meltzer, WWE officials are hopeful that a match of this magnitude will help to boost ratings.Â
It should be noted that this has not been officially confirmed as of yet and should only be treated as a rumor at this point.
