WWE had a number of Twitter accounts suspended over SummerSlam weekend for posting GIF's of the pay-per-view.
One of the biggest names suspended was Senor Lariato, who posted highlights of GIF's from wrestling all over the world. In fact, he was credited as one of the key people in making New Japan Pro Wrestling popular to a number of American fans.
WWE has in recent months started to post GIF's themselves although rather then this being a matter of competition, it solely comes downs to a violation of WWE's copyright.
If WWE allows GIF's to be posted then it makes legal battles with streaming sites harder as lawyers could argue that WWE allow people to rebroadcast their events on Twitter. Some accounts were posting sizable portions of the event in GIF form.
