WWE NXT Taping Results For 5/25 & 6/1 (SPOILERS)

WWE taped two episodes of NXT tonight, which will air on the WWE Network on May 25th and June 1st.

Dark Match #1: Andrade Cien Almas def. Tino Sabatelli

Dark Match #2: American Alpha def. Authors of Pain

WWE NXT – 5/25/16

-William Regal kicks off the taping with some bad news. Bayley is not cleared to compete following her defeat at the hands of Nia Jax. Therefor, she will not be receiving her obligatory rematch at Asuka’s NXT Women’s Championship at NXT Takeover: Revenge. Instead, Nia Jax will face off against Carmella and Alexa Bliss in the main event, with the winner earning a championship opportunity at Takeover.

-Austin Aries is out for a promo about becoming NXT Champion after Finn Balor and Samoa Joe settle their rivalry. Shinsuke Nakamura cuts him off and lays his own claim to the title. Out comes Regal again, who boots Aries vs. Nakamura for Takeover.

(1) No Way Jose def. Johny Vandal. Quick match with lots of comedy stuff. Jose is still over, as he has been at all the house shows lately. Lots of chants for him.

(2) #1 Contender’s Match
Nia Jax def. Carmella & Alexa Bliss. Hot crowd and what’s being described as a pretty decent main event match for TV. Nia won it with her leg drop and cleared the ring after.

-The episode ends with Asuka and Nia face to face with the women’s title.

WWE NXT – 6/1/16

-The Revival kicks off episode two with promos to hype their tag team title match at Takeover. They are cut off by NXT’s newest indie darling team of Johnny Gargano and Tomasso Ciampa, who want to lay their own claim at the tag titles. Revival talks a big game and tells them to go “back to the bingo halls” but end up backing down. Gargano taunts them and Revival rushes the ring only to get knocked back down with dropkicks before they tuck tail and run.

(1) Tye Dillinger def. Murphy. No Blake or Alexa Bliss for Murphy tonight. It’s been the same at the house shows as well. “Where’s Alexa?” chant.

(2) Austin Aries def. Elias Samson. Samson got massive heat as he has been getting for his “Drifter” gimmick. Not sure if it’s “good” heat or “bad” heat, but he’s definitely getting a reaction. Either way he lost, hard.

-Time for a contract signing between Asuka and Nia Jax. What could possibly go wrong? Asuka is actually out in street clothes, with no face paint. Nia is as well, and she cuts a promo about how she’s not scared of Asuka and how she broke Bayley and is the most dominant force to come after the title yet. Asuka signs and tells her she talks too much, and that she SHOULD be afraid of her. The segment, of course, ends with the two going at it, and the challenger gets the better of the exchange with a powerbomb.

(3) Johnny Gargano & Tomasso Ciampa def. The Revival. Kind of a surprise, upset win here considering the title match on Sunday. The Revival beat down the babyfaces after the match to get their heat back, and destroy Ciampa with a Shatter Machine. American Alpha rushes the ring to make the save and we get a post-match brawl and a pull-apart to end the TV tapings.

Dark Match #3: Adrienne Reese (Athena) def. Nikki Storm

Dark Match #4: Samoa Joe & Tye Dillinger vs. Finn Balor & Shinsuke Nakamura
