WNS Column: What’s Next For Brock Lesnar?‏

Hi Wrestling Fans! Well, how unpredictable was SummerSlam!? Our WNS Predictions League was shaken a little, thanks to several new champions and I was definitely led to believe the opposite was going to happen. WWE took me for a ride, but the results (after thinking I was bottom of our league table!) made me excited for the upcoming Raw’s and Night Of Champions, leading into Survivor Series. So this week, I am going to look at what is Best For Business with regards to our NEW WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar as well as who I think he should face at WrestleMania 31.

Ok – we now know that Brock will be facing John Cena at Night Of Champions. A rematch from Summerslam that I can only see going one way – A Lesnar win. There is no point in Brock having the title for it to be taken away so soon other than for John Cena to equal Ric Flair’s 16 time world championship, and nobody wants that. Given Flair is on Raw this week he may have some comments regarding this.

Brock Lesnar vs Randy Orton

Randy STILL hasn’t had his Wrestlemania rematch yet, but should that only be with Daniel Bryan as champ? Or whoever is the current champion? I don’t know, but I think this match would be as one sided as Brock/Cena as Summerslam given Randy only has a few select moves and they just aren’t powerful enough to tame the Beast.

Brock Lesnar vs Kane

If Kane was to come out as the Big Red Monster and no more of the Corporate BS then this match could be built spectacularly. Kane wanting revenge on the one who beat his brother’s amazing streak, and I’m sure Paul Heyman would be able to pull off some amazing promo’s as well as Kane responding ‘from Hell’ telling how Brock is going to end up like the Undertaker’s streak – Broken. I think Kane deserves one more title run as he is definitely an underrated wrestler that WWE seldom use correctly.

Brock Lesnar vs Daniel Bryan

Many reports are saying that this was the match that never was at Summerslam, owing to Bryan’s neck injury, but would it be as good a match as everyone thinks? I mean technically Bryan could definitely stand up to Brock, but given the size of both Taker and Cena who Lesnar has, quite easily, demolished and put out of action what chances does The Underdog have against The Beast? Plus I think Bryan has already played the underdog-comes-out-on-top already at Mania and it really was unfortunate that he got injured. WWE have built Brock too strong I think, to face Bryan.

Brock Lesnar vs Roman Reigns

I have read recently that this is the match that Triple H wants to be at WrestleMania 31 – While I’m sure that it would be well built, I can’t see Roman Reigns being match-ready just yet. After an explosive debut with The Shield, it seems that there are only a few moves in Reigns’ portfolio that he uses, and uses, and uses. I wouldn’t say a compelte character reinvention is needed, but he definitely needs to open up his moveset to have any chance of becoming WWE’s ‘next big thing’.

Brock Lesnar vs Seth Rollins

The Architect vs The Beast – I just cant help but think the only way Rollins will be facing Lesnar is after he has been in a match and Rollins cashes in. It would be cool to see this match though given Rollins’ current in ring work, but it would be Heel v Heel which I odn’t think would work very well – who would you cheer for?

Brock Lesnar vs Rusev

Just take a moment to imagine The Ravishing Russian versus Paul Heyman, now that would be an excellent “promo-off”!! Both brilliant on the mic, both able to generate a lot of heat from the crowd and both wrestlers capable of putting on a great match. Would be a fantastic build up but I am not sure WWE are ready to put the WWE WHC on Rusev yet.

Brock Lesnar vs Dean Ambrose – WWE WrestleMania 31

This is what I want to see, this IS Best For Business. The Beast versus The Lunatic! For the promo’s, for the build up, for the match and to see Dean Ambrose rightfully slay The Beast and be crowned NEW WWE World Heavyweight Champion! This would catapult Ambrose to this Era’s Stone Cold Steve Austin. Brock could successfully pass the torch and return to UFC after a good run as Champion. Leaving us with the Lunatic Era and the young wrestlers finally having a chance to shine instead of relying on past wrestlers!

Thanks for reading and if you have any fantasy matches for Brock Lesnar, leave them in the comments below!

(I purposely left out Damian Sandow and Bo Dallas for you..)

Until next time.
