Nick Parsons sent along the following to NoDQ.com:

Hi, Bret Hart was on the sports talk show "Off the Record" on TSN in Canada today.

Segment 1: He said he came back mainly because he thought it would be fun. The why not outweighed the whys. He said it was never about the money. He had a cast on his leg on the show still selling his 'broken leg.' He mentions that the hardest part of being retired is most of his friends have died likeOwen, Bulldog and Mr. Perfect. Bret said the wrestlers of today are much more focused and well behaved than his generation.

Segment 2: The host asked Bret about a number of wrestlers. Here's basically what he said:

Shawn Michaels-He forgives Shawn to a certain degree. They talked the afternoon of Bret's return. Said everything they said was very sincere and now with the weight off of each others shoulders they get along as much as they did before Survivor Series 97'.

Triple H-Only seen each other a couple of times and barely talked, said like is too strong of a word to describe how he feels about him.

Ric Flair-Feels sorry for him. Flair chose wrestling when he should have stopped and went home to his family, but never left wrestling and his family moved on. All he knows is the wrestling life of the locker room, airports and bars.

There was more to the interview available online only at www.tsn.ca/shows/otr/

In the online segment Bret discusses breaking his hand punching Vince after the screw job and receiving a call in the hospital after his stroke from Vince.

Talked about how much he can do for Wrestlemania saying the biggest risk is injuring his head. Bret says don't expect the old Hitman in the ring, but he will still entertain his fans with the match.

Charlie Haas Talks About his Ongoing Nightmare in WWE

Monday Night Mayhem radio with Charlie Haas
Hosts: Big Mosh, Blade, Todd Vincent
Available at MondayNightMayhem.com.

Interview highlights courtesy of The Mayhem's official correspondent, Paterson From New Jersey:

How much of his second stint with World Wrestling Entertainment was a "life experience" after the first time being there: "It was definitely a life experience. It was just an ongoing nightmare for me. They promise they're gonna do this with you, and they don't do it. They tell me they are gonna bring me in to feud with Shelton (Benjamin), and they don't do it. As out lives went on we had our first child & then our second child, you wanna quit, but you have to support your family. Then you'll like 'Alright if I gonna eat crap to help support my family and give my wife & kids a better life, better than I ever had, then that's what I'll do.' But eventually, you could only handle so much before you gotta walk away because you bring that misery home, and it's unhealthy. It's a unhealthy work environment, but then when you bring it home, you make it a unhealthy home environment for your family, and you can't do that. It just really feels good to be away from that. No one understands unless you've been there."

Becoming a great fit within the confines of Ring Of Honor: "I agree with you 100%. I've been watching the product, I know Jim Cornette personally, and I just love what they're doing down there. I've worked with Cornette; I like the formulation of what he's done in the past in OVW and what he's doing now. I think I'll be a great fit. Those kids could go, and they wrestle. These men wrestle, and that's what it's about. I have so much left in my tank. My body's healthy. I'm determined. I'm not gonna sit back and be upset & retire, I wanna go out and prove myself. I wanna prove myself to all the skeptics & all the creative that they didn't know what they had."

What is more appealing to Charlie when he makes his return to the ring on television: TNA or Ring Of Honor: "I will end up at one or the other I promise you that. I just wanna go out & wrestle. I wanna be given the opportunity I never had, and that's it. I wanna have fun: that passion is back, and I feel like a weight has been lifted off my chest. The odds are good I will end up somewhere, and the whole new destiny for Charlie Haas will definitely take a turn, and it'll be a turn for the best. Not just for the fans, but for me & my family as well."

Some of the superstars/performers that Charlie would want to face in TNA that he never had the opportunity to face in his career: "There's another Elijah Burke ('The Pope' D'Angelo Dinero), never did anything with him. Look what's happened. It's the same thing; the WWE didn't see anything in him or he's not entertaining enough. It's their loss, and that's just one of them. Shannon Moore was another one who was never given the opportunity. Jeff Hardy is the most popular wrestler there is in the world today. Kurt (Angle) is one of my best friends, we talk all the time, and I would love to run with him or Jeff or any of those wrestlers: AJ (Styles), Samoa Joe."

Charlie's thoughts on the passing of his close friend & business partner Eddie "Umaga" Fatu several few months ago: "He was my best friend and was my best friend since we started in the developmental territories together. He was with me when we found my brother dead. He was my best friend & my business partner, and his family is my family. It's just heartbreaking just to watch him and watch what happened, and to have to bury another one of your friends just really sucks."

Why Shelton Benjamin, like himself, has not been used to the best of his ability during his time in the WWE: "It's either someone doesn't like him in creative or he's just too good of a wrestler, or he just makes things look too good & too easy, or it's just very political. Someone at the time doesn't want him to succeed. They have who they want to push, and he's just not one of them. And it's unfortunate, because he is probably the most God-gifted athlete in sports (pro wrestling & the WWE), but they don't want to utilize that, so it's their loss. That's why I'm begging him not to sign back. He'll probably stay for the money, but he could utilized a lot better elsewhere I'll tell you that."

More is contained in Charlie's interview with the Monday Night Mayhem Radio Network, including his candid thoughts & comments on the real story behind his impersonations of past & present WWE Superstars, Legends, & Divas (including whose idea it was for the gimmick & which member of the WWE Creative Team that Charlie confided in the most during his return to the company), why the WWE almost pulled Shelton Benjamin from the forthcoming Money In The Bank Match at WrestleMania XXVI, & so much more! Log onto Charlie's official website & Facebook pages (located respectively at http://www.HaasOfPain.com & http://www.Facebook.com/HaasOfPain), and be sure to check out the official online portal of Custom Muscle, presented by Charlie, along with his wife (Jackie Gayda Haas) & former WWE Champion, John Bradshaw Layfield (located at http://www.NutritionMarket.com).

- Tommy Dreamer has opened a website @ http://www.thetommydreamer.com/

Discusses Leaving WWE:

My leaving WWE was the hardest thing to do in my life. I refer to it as WWE A.D.(After Dreamer).I worked almost 10 years there. I truly liked, all the people associated with the company. I miss them and the fans everyday. I left for many reasons, which I will not discuss here. ECW
was my world and all that I have is because of ECW. My connection to the fans is something that means so much to me. Fact, when I was the main event on ECW I was the highest rated main event every year. You can look it up. (me and Chavo Guerrero 1.6, me and Mark Henry 1.5, me and Koslov 1.3 and that match was poopoo. Hell me and Big Daddy V did a 1.2) many men and women came on that show and it was good old reliable me that was the highest rated every year. That is a hard pill to swallow, when you hear of the failing ratings of ECW. Networks wanting to change the show because of ratings. If you want to read into my leaving ECW, you can relate it to the Conan O Brien saga with his show. I felt I left my mark in WWE with the many men and women I hired to help realize their dreams. The many people I have encountered in my tenure in WWE is something I hold deep within my heart. I hope that I have influenced your life somehow, because you all have influenced mine.

Source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter

- You may remember a few weeks back, Eric Bischoff said on Facebook that he heard Bret Hart had a Lloyds of London insurance policy that was going to affect what he could do in his match at WrestleMania 26.

According to one person in WWE creative, this story is true. WWE apparently found out about the policy right before Bret appeared on January 4th. This news had everyone from Stephanie McMahon on down to other officials worried.

The plan was to do Bret Hart vs. Vince McMahon in a singles match from the start but they started to tease a tag match with Batista and John Cena for a few weeks. It's possible they started to tease the tag match because of the Lloyd's policy and a few weeks later they "bought out the problem", as Bischoff said, or made some kind of agreement with Lloyd's and then went back to the original plan of Vince vs. Bret in a singles match.

After months of intense negotiations, Rob Van Dam finally agreed to terms with TNA last week. Hulk Hogan of all people spoiled the surprise by noting last Thursday during a radio interview that a major star had signed on with the organization and then doing RVD’s trademark pointing routine, apparently forgetting he was being filmed.

Though terms of Van Dam’s contract have not been disclosed, he has made it clear he’s not interested in working a full-time schedule. There is said to much grumbling among longtime wrestlers as they perceive established stars such as Van Dam being paid big bucks without working house show dates. Furthermore, more than one wrestler noted that RVD took an unnecessary shot during a recent interview when he said he couldn’t understand why people want to see him go from beating superstars such as Steve Austin and The Rock in WWE to wrestling the likes of Christopher Daniels in TNA.

“When people say I’m a legend, I’m comfortable with that. If I’m a legend to you, I get that. You’ve seen me beat the best, you’ve seen me hang in there with the best. Now if I go hang in there with these young guys that really aren’t eve proven, I’m not sure you’re going to get that same perspective and the same satisfaction out of RVD that you thought you would,” Van Dam said during an appearance on the Busted Open radio show in January.

“You’ve seen Rob Van Dam beat Big Show, The Rock, Steve Austin, and now you want to see me go over Christopher Daniels and that’s really what you want to see?
