RCW enewsletter: September 3 info

In the main event of the evening, RCW Tag Team Champions Alissa Flash and Darci Drake defend their titles against The Gulf Coast Connection. This stems from August 6 when New Style Ben Galvan and Mr. Beautiful Rudy Russo won a FourWay Ladder Match to become the number one contenders. These gentlemen and we use that term very loosely are no strangers to these RCW Angels. The Female Terminator along with her lovely apprentice are ready for this defense. However, The Gulf Coast Connection have a brand new attitude, a rise of arrogance if you will, that could possibly give them an edge as well as a new member in A.J. Summers. What will happen on September 3?
In addition, if you like beautiful women, and you love controversy, then you'll enjoy the RCW return of the vivacious Trina! What plans does she have in store for Dawn of a New Dynasty 4?
Also, the RCW Champion The Man with the Killer Instinct Ray Rowe will put his championship on the line against RCW's only Triple Crown winner, Big Dogg along with his manager,Chris Sifuentes. Big Dogg has shown a mean streak since taking on the 99.5 FM KISS DJ as his manager. When these two heavyweights go at it, it will be a true challenge for the RCW Championship.
Hopefully, the situation regarding the International Championship will be resolved on September 3 between cochampions El Mamacito Ann Dromeda and Reyna Pink. The two RCW Angels simultaneously pinned Big Dogg on August 6 to win the championship. Will we have one true International Champion?
All of this plus the dark demon of RCW Muerte, Nemesis, Joey Super Shot Spector, Jingo Wallabee and Honkey Kong, Black Belt Jones, Steve McEnroe and much more!

Michael Tarver Interview Recap

Recap of Michael Tarver interview from www.IYHWrestling.com

by Taso the Greek of IYHWrestling.com

Jack E. Jones and OneInchBiceps are joined at the start of the show by Michael Tarver, former WWE superstar & founding member of Nexus. He is asked what has he been up to recently? Tarver answers that he is busy with his ministry, as well as keeping in shape. His faith is very important to him. But so is training. He travels a lot doing public speaking in churches as well as to young adults at juvenile detention centers. He has been staying busy.
How did he get involved with FCW? He said a friend called him in 2007 and asked him to come to New York, because Smackdown! was having a taping in Rochester, and the WWE needed big physiques to fillin as bodyguards for a segment between JBL and Chris Jericho. He got a tryout and Johnny Ace gave him a job. He stuck out because of his presence and his piercing stare, his intensity, all of which shone through when he told a heckler to shut up. Elijah Burke was one guy who told Michael he had that look about him. Jack then asked Michael about the old school custom of shaking hands. Michael said it wasn’t just a “ritual” but it was about respect. He said the atmosphere in WWE is intense.
FCW was awesome for him because he started right away, and he showed his intensity and passion by walking up to Steve Keirn and asked to do a promo in front of the crowd, after seeing them react to Alicia Fox. He felt that he could get a lot of heat because the crowd seemed receptive. He cut an ugly heel promo and got boo’ed out of the building. When he got to FCW there were guys there from OVW as well and it was a great atmosphere, different then it is now, because there are fewer wrestlers and more bikini models and exathletes.
Incher asked a question from Nikhil, who wanted to know if anything original, got dropped from the Nexus storyline. Michael said things just snowballed week after week. Creative doesn’t plan in advance because it is too difficult. “WWE knows what it is doing, even when they don’t know what they are doing.” They had no idea what was going to come in the future.
Was there any jealousy from other wrestlers? Vance Archer, who Michael said was a good friend of his. They were supposed to debut together in ECW together. Archer debuted and Tarver did not, because Michael did not have his passport yet.
How did NXT come together was the next question. Michael says talent relations came to Florida and explained the show in general details. He hoped it wasn’t going to be another Tough Enough. He wanted to debut as himself on SD! They later came down and little by little they found out who was going to be on the show. The plans during the show were halfimprovised, as the young talent was thrown into the fire to see how they would react and handle the pressure. He brings up a time when Carlito did or didn’t spit an apple in Heath Slater’s face. He praised Carlito as a talented guy who should have been a world champion. He mentions Daniel Bryan’s match with Chris Jericho and that the WWE had plans for people and you could tell by watching who the machine was really looking at pushing in the future. He didn’t mind being labeled as a rookie, when OIB asked, because in the WWE, even Daniel Bryan was a rookie by their standards. He has seen everyone improve tremendously in the past year, but again stated that everyone can always learn more and hone their craft, and WWE is the place to learn it.
At what point were they NOT considered rookies? Michael felt that the strength of the Nexus angle was that these young guys were making a statement, so he didn’t mind the rookie label. He said everyone but David Otunga had an average 7 to 10 years of experience as wrestlers, so he didn’t view himself or anyone else as a rookie. It was just a label the WWE used for the story.
When were they told about the Nexus angle? They were told that same day. He said Wade Barrett was a natural leader, Darren Young was a great personality, you never saw Tarver wrestle, we never saw Sheffield wrestle, and that we didn’t see all that the Nexus guys had to offer. On the day of the angle, they were told to destroy everything except the cameras. They were told to wear the Nexus garb and armband everywhere they went, even in bed with their girlfriends or boyfriends. Justin Gabriel was “outed” as straight at this point. They were not allowed to sign autographs either.
Michael spoke about his friendships with the Nexus group and that he was close to all of them. David Otunga was his closest friend, but he did say that Otunga was in WWE because of his wife, but he was a hard wrestler and trained very hard.
The tie incident was brought up. The Nexus guys were shocked that Daniel Bryan got fired a week later, but the WWE office and the talent were surprised by what happened, especially Daniel’s aggressive attack.
Tarver put over the Nexus and the angle and felt that WWE could have gone farther with it. The fans loved it. The fans loved the original Nexus. He felt that he could have run out during a John Cena match at Summer Slam and it would have gotten over. The WWE machine could make you if they got behind you and he seemed surprised that they didn’t push the Nexus originals further in storylines.
On his intensity, he said he learned right away that he had to take his opportunities when they presented themselves. He did feel that the WWE didn’t give him many matches to show his talent. He felt he still stood out with his persona and his ferocity. He said he “spoke with his tshirts” and with the handkerchief across his face. He forced promos and became unpredictable, grabbed the mic from Matt Striker, took any chance he could take. WWE told them to be ready at any time, and he felt that they forgot him, so he took his opportunities when he could, to stand out from the rest. He said Vince was the one guy who noticed him and praised him, but that was about it as far as the office communicating to him. Vince held promo classes once a week for the Nexus guys. Michael praised Vince for his ability to teach this important skill. Michael felt he did better then everyone on his promos through unorthodox style, his diction, and his style. Everyone in WWE knows Michael Tarver can talk.
Jack asked, did anyone dislike his enthusiasm and aggressive attitude? He did think that some people simply did not know what to expect from these new wrestlers, comparing their initial run to John Cena and CM Punk.
Incher asked about his promo where he said that he should be the one eliminated, and Michael responded the WWE didn’t understand what he was saying. If he was not eliminated that night, the next week he would start destroying everyone. Daniel Bryan said that he himself should be eliminated, so there was a difference. He felt that people bought into his character too much and thought that he was a disruptive force, and he was stereotyped in that way.
John Cena was brought up. Michael said working with Cena was amazing. Cena was a superstar. He did say he could not stand the guy, but that Cena could wrestle and he was as good as CM Punk or Chris Benoit. But getting to know him was not great. Cena treated Michael Tarver “like crap”. Cena had unlimited power in the WWE. He could make or break young wrestlers no matter who they were. He felt that he could stand toe to toe with John Cena on promos and in the ring. He felt he was not as good as Punk or Daniel Bryan. Cena did not shake his hand on some occasions. There was the chair incident at a PPV where Cena hit Michael extremely hard. He had past injuries which made him a bit vulnerable, so he put his arm up to protect himself and Cena broke his arm with the chair shot. Cena was not careful and didn’t take care of him. After the match, you shake everyone’s hand, but Cena did not shake his hand after that match, but just walked away with a laugh. Michael felt slighted at that. Cena asked him about the arm but Tarver told him it was fine, which Cena laughed at again and then walked off. Michael thought that Cena should have remembered that he was once a rookie as well, and forgot where he had started. Michael said he was targeted as the guy with the bad attitude from the beginning. That carried over and stuck with him throughout his tenure with the company, which he called very powerful a number of times. Michael noticed this early on. He feels he did everything right, practicing, promos, showing up early, but it was all for naught as he was labeled a bad guy early on.
Jack asked about Vince McMahon and Nexus merchandise, and why did Vince say that the merch wasn’t popular. Tarver didn’t know why that mattered. He pointed out that the nexus were heels. He said that nexus merchandise did sell. The days of the generic babyface were over, and the Nexus was something people wanted to see, a bunch of asskickers.
Did he feel that Cena beat them too often? Yes. There could have been a lot more done with the Nexus. CM Punk didn’t need the Nexus, but the reverse was true as well. The Nexus didn’t need CM Punk. The Nexus angle was the hottest angle in a long time. Why were they not at Wrestlemania was another question Michael had for WWE. He pointed out that they beat up Undertaker and Ricky Steamboat, so why not kick The Rock, The Miz, and John Cena’s ass at Mania?
Gene the Drunk called in with a question. How did Michael Tarver feel about the old generation’s opinion that the new guys didn’t know how to work and didn’t understand psychology? Tarver felt that a lot of what the older generation did just couldn’t be done anymore. He understood that you had to tell a story, but things simply weren’t the same in this day and age. Gene also wanted to know where the best rats could be found, but Michael said he was engaged before he got to WWE. He did give Tampa, Florida a shout out for having the most rats.
Taso the Greek called in and asked about independent promotions and TNA. Michael has been in contact with TNA people, and he would go if they want him. He also mentions Ring of Honor as a place he would like to work. He mentions going to Japan and work for New Japan. He wants a match with Nakamura and Yuji Nagata. There was always a chance that he could go back to WWE as well. He wasn’t sure if he would ever want to go back, but he felt he was more seasoned now so he would be in a better position.
What was the reason he was given for being let go? Johnny Ace told him simply that they had nothing for him. The WWE felt that he was unhappy; his relationship with Steve Keirn also wasn’t good. He wasn’t getting opportunities, he was hurt, so they let him go with the idea he could one day come back. Michael felt both relief and regret.
Why did Darren Young get the boot so early out of Nexus? Michael had no idea. He didn’t really question why either because WWE is the biggest player in the game and that was pretty much it. He did feel Young was the most wellrounded guy in the ring out of the entire Nexus group. Did people think Young looked like John Cena? Yes, it was unavoidable. Darren was a classy guy and a smart person but Michael didn’t know why he wasn’t used. They did mention the resemblance on TV and backstage.
CM Punk and Nexus? Michael can’t say either good or bad. He felt they could have brought back the original Nexus. He liked the Wade Barrett / CM Punk chemistry. He did a little fantasy booking with Punk and the nexus, with his main point being the Nexus was a huge and successful angle and it could have had legs for a very long time.
Jack tried to find out who was the RAW GM. Michael had no idea and doesn’t think there was any plan at all.
A question from the board was asked about what the talent thought about the NXT show and the silly stuff they did. Michael said that everyone thought it was entertaining.
Mike Higgins called in and asked how Michael Tarver broke into the business. Tarver started training in 2000 in Ohio, got good, and showed potential. He worked his first day in the business in a 3minute squash match. He then started working 34 nights every week. These days he is working on his music and his ministry.
Nikhil asked what was the plan or angle, where Michael Tarver was hanging out in the back on SD! with a phone. Michael said he was supposed to be recruiting for a new stable, possibly. He wasn’t quite sure where they were going with that angle. He did feel that the fans wanted to see him and his appearances did generate interest. Michael Tarver thanked the fans. He loved working in front of thousands of people. At the moment he is working on a hiphop religious album, his ministry, and even playing basketball abroad. He is also writing a book. He talked about how his kids were the most important thing in his life, however, not the WWE. Wrestling was a vehicle for him to do good things in his life.

You can catch the whole audio show on the website, join the facebook page, and check out the chat and the message board:
http://www.iyhwrestling.com
Facebook:
http://www.facebook.com/groups/inyourheadonline/
Podcast:
http://inyourheadwrestling.podomatic.com/
Subscribe in iTunes:
http://itunes.apple.com/podcast/nealjonespodcast/id385508745

<h3>AS I SEE IT
Bob Magee
Pro Wrestling: Between the Sheets
<A HREF="http://pwbts.com">PWBTS.com</A></h3>So Matt Hardy finally won the race with his brother Jeff to get fired from TNA. He was finally fired (after being on an indeterminate suspension from the promotions, reportedly for refusal to go to rehabilitation) when he was arrested for a DUI on Saturday afternoon after smashing his Corvette into a tree.

Meanwhile, Shane Helms proceeded to attack TMZ for repotring the news, referring to them as "maggots". News bulletin, Shane....if Matt and Jeff hadn't aired videos of themselves impaired at a restaurant, aired OTHER videos including the infamous Tazer video...odds are TMZ wouldn't have given them the time of day.

There was a great Bret Hart interview on Friday from the Reginabased WOLF 104.9, which will be posted, if it isn't already, at <A HREF="http://www.thewolfrocks.com/index.php">their website</a> . The host, Chad McDonald, was clearly smart and asked excellent and tough questions without being sensationalistic.

Hart pulled no punches, discussing everything from Chris Benoit, and suggested that other Chris Benoit's could easily happen within wrestling or sports, given the pressure, physical contact and stress endemic within those industries; Montreal 1997 and how he gets along with everyone from Vince McMahon to HHH to other players in that incident, as well as how concussions and substance abuse affect wrestling in general and WWE in particular. He also was asked about the effect of UFC's rise on WWE business.

In other news late last week, The Philadelphia Inquirer/Daily News's Philly.com website reports this afternoon that Roger Artigiani, manager at the Asylum Arena (better known as the ECW Arena) has told the website that Trocadero Theatre operator Joanna Pang's company has agreed to use the Asylum Arena as a venue for future shows, as the rock venue's bankruptcy reorganization works through the legal process.

In the article, Artigiani expresses concerns that The Arena may not be large enough for everyone that wants to host shows there, citing concerns for the neighborhood.

The Asylum Arena's landlords weren't immediately available for comment to Philly.com as of the time the story was posted on Philly.com.

In other Arena news, September 10 features CZW's Chris Ca$h Memorial Show featuring the Title versus Title match of CZW's Ultraviolent Undergound Champion Masada taking on Big Japan Wrestling Deathmatch Champion Ryuji Ito.

November features the Dragon Gate USA/Combat Zone Wrestling doubleheader on November 12, with Dragon Gate USA starting at 5:30 pm and Combat Zone Wrestling at a scheduled 8:30 pm belltime; followed by CHIKARA Pro Wrestling returning the next afternoon November 13 with a 4:00 pm belltime. Then the first weekend in December is already looking to have one of the hottest Philadelphia wrestling weekends in recent memory as CHIKARA will present a weekend entitled JOSHIMANIA, with Friday, December 2, taking place at the Arena in South Philadelphia featuuing Joshi legends Aja Kong and Manami Toyota, as well as talent from Japanese women's promotions Osaka Women’s Pro, JWP, Sendai Girls, WAVE and Union Pro. CZW's annual Cage of Death will be held the next night on Saturday, December 3 (not the usual second Saturday date)

Wanted to include this little blurb again about Michael Morrice, a brave 13 year old from the UK, who is awaiting a kidney transplant. Michael is currently undergoing dialysis.
If any readers within the business (indies, WWE, TNA, puroresu, or lucha promoters or workers or even staff) or even fans... who would be willing to send a key chain or pen from the country in which they live... or just plain good wishes, please contact Michael and his mom, Sylvia, via <A HREF="http://www.facebook.com/MichaelMorriceTransplantSupport">Michael Morrice Transplant Support</a> Facebook page. This isn't one of those chain deals....he's a real kid (who happens, as it turns out, to share my birthday)...not a mysterious someone looking to get some magic number of Facebook friends. He's just a 13 year old wrestling fan, with a mom who loves him, and who asked Petey for help. I thought I'd pass it on to all of you...

Some of you have already sent him good wishes, and many other things...if some more of you can be moved to do so, it'd be appreciated.

Until next time...

Showcase Pro Wrestling 8/13Results

Results by: Joe Starr

8/13/11Attleboro Moose LodgeRoger Williams was first to the ring to do battle with Keano “the Samoan Warrior” after booker Nicholas Night let SPW Management know

that the show wasn’t to start until he arrived 15 minutes late. Management made the decision to go on with the show as planned, until both Mark “Flex” Damon and

Nicholas Night arrived with gear in tow. Visibly angry, Night took it upon himself to begin changing the booking immediately. He pulled Keano and inserted Damon to

do battle with Williams. Damon dominated most of the match, yet Williams showed brief signs of life, and even scored a near pinfall. Alas, Williams was defeated as

Damon put him away and scored the 123.

“The Prodigal Child with the Southern Smile” Cargill Vinton with Buck Nasty in tow, stepped to the ring next to do battle with newcomer Andy McKenzie. A game

McKenzie, one match after his SPW debut was a game combatant, but failed to close the deal as Vinton hit his devastating “Holy Roller” finisher to secure the victory.

“The Latin Aristocrat” David Armando Nieves Flores w/ The Bum took on the Bum’s longtime partnerThe Hobo. The two were cordial before the match began, but Flores was

obviously disgusted with the Bum’s interaction with his long time friend. The Hobo took it to Flores as often as he could, but Flores proved to be too much for an

overmatched Hobo. After Flores pinned the Hobo he continued to inflict damage to the Hobo’s neck via several neck breakers. When Flores was finished he paid the Bum

to continue to destroy the fallen man. The Bum laid in severe kicks until management rushed the ring to stop the onslaught, but management was too late, the damage

had been done, and the Hobo was helped to the back with a brace on his neck. As of this report, the Hobo has with a neck injury, howver was released for the hospital

we will kept you posted on his recovery.

In triple threat action, Owen Graicien defeated Tom Kane, and Rocco Abruzzi when he pinned Abruzzi to close the deal. High flying action took place, and chaos

ensued, but when the smoke cleared, Graicien was the man that stood victorious.

Scott “SPW’s only 5 star ref” was next to the ring to conduct a referee clinic for the others refs and the crowd. Scott pulled a young man from the crowd to the

ring to help conduct the seminar. Ultimately, the young man counted three counts and demonstrated 5 star skills, but a dejected Scott was infuriated with the crowd’s

reaction as they cheered for the young man and, but not for him when he makes his skilled 3 counts.

“The Nicest Man in Professional Wrestling” Mike Nice took on challenger Buck Nasty, w/ Cargill Vinton in his corner, to defend his Showcase Pro Wrestling

Heavyweight Championship in what turned out to be the match of the night.. Nasty pulled out all the stops to try and dethrone the reigning champion. Vinton also

intervened until Brian the ref escorted him from ringside. Nice, sensing a shift in momentum, took it to Nasty and secured the win with a pinfall.

Finally, in the evening’s main event, “Nature Boy” Gary Gold w/ John Cena Sr. in his corner, did battle with Nicholas Night. The two ring veterans went toe to toe for

some time before Gold finally had Night worn down and lying in the center of the ring. Gold went to apply his deadly finisher, the figure four leg lock, when Scott

the 5 star ref stepped in his way to protect the booker from certain defeat. An infuriated Cena Sr. was screaming at ringside and distracted the ref long enough for

Night to kick free of his certain defeat and apply a leg lock of his own. Seconds after the hold was applied, Scott called for the bell citing a tapout submission

from Gold to secure the win for Night. Problem was, Gold didn’t tapout. Chaos ensued as Mark “Flex” Damon made his way back to the ring to help Night punish Gold.

Showcase Management Chris Blackheart and Derek then stormed the ring to even the score. Ultimately, the ring was cleared, save Cena Sr., Gold and Night. Gold then

cinched in his figure four leg lock and tortured Night for several minutes until a 6 man tag match was set beween the teams of Gold, Blackheart, and Derek t against

Nicholas Night, Mark “Flex” Damon, and Scott the 5 star ref. Until then, this is Joe Starr wishing you all the best until I see you at ringside!!

<A HREF="http://pwbts.com">PWBTS.com</A></h3>SummerSlam occurred largely as you'd expect, but with one wrinkle...CM Punk went over in the official main event, after missing a leg on the ropes by HHH. Alberto Del Rio cashed in his Money in The Bank and is the new WWE Heavyweight Champion...but over CM Punk. Makes you wonder what the plan is going forward, as the plan had been for Albwerto Del RioJohn Cena matches. I hope to God we don't wind up with CM PunkKevin Nash matches as a result.

Short Results Dan Arkham beat Will Esquire in a preshow match; Jason Gory beat Michael Facade and PWO TV Champion Bobby Beverly in a threeway match to win the title; Ben Fruith beat Bobby Shields; Portia Perez beat Veda Scott; Kirst beat Corey Winters; Matt Cross beat Johnny Gargano and Josh Prohibition in the "Full Circle Three Way Dance"; PWO Tag Team Champions The Sons of Michigan (N8 Mattson & Benjamin Boone) beat Aeroform (Louis Lyndon & Flip Kendrick), The Homeless Handicapped Connection (Gregory Iron & Hobo Joe) and Brian Bender & Bryan Castle in a fourway elimination match; Tito Santana beat Nicki Valentino; PWO Champion Jason Bane beat Krimson in a No DQ match; Kevin Nash & Aaron Draven (w/Justin LaBar) beat Marion Fontaine & Brodie Lee. Attendance was approx. 2,200. Groovepipe appeared as the special live band. Shiima Xion was advertised but was unable to appear due to contractual commitments with TNA Impact Wrestling.

Full Results

The large mouth of "Megastar" Marion Fontaine was at least temporarily shut due to a Jackknife Powerbomb from the legendary "Big Sexy" Kevin Nash followed by an "Omega" Aaron Draven splash from the shoulders of Kevin Nash. "Big Rig" Brodie Lee also tasted a nasty Nash chokeslam and Justin LaBar thwarted the attempted involvement of Fontaine's biggest fan Aaron Maguire. Nash & Omega were an unlikely team but gelled well and got the job done. With the Fontaine/LaBar war of words seemingly behind us, what is next for PWO's most controversial star Marion Fontaine and his hired heavy "Big Rig" Brodie Lee?

PWO fans were witness to the most violent and sadistic PWO Title Match ever as Jason Bane survived a hellacious war with "The Embodiment of Evil" Krimson. Krimson's plan to hijack the PWO Title, and hold it and the goals & dreams of all PWO stars hostage until he had ultimate power and control over all, saw broken glass, thumbtacks, chairs, a ladder, blood, mist, the intervening of Krimson's disciples Kirst & Gory and more. Jason Bane was beaten and battered in a way no man had ever come close to doing before, but Bane served his role as the last line of defense keeping the PWO Title from falling in the wrong hands.

"MDogg" Matt Cross was told on worldwide television four months ago that he wasn't good enough. However, on this night he was. Cross won the "Full Circle Three Way Dance" involving his most wellknown rivals Josh Prohibition and Johnny Gargano in a battle with 10+ years of history going into it. As Josh drove Gargano headfirst into a table, Cross came from the top rope with a shooting star press onto both men. Then, Matt fulfilled a twoplus year goal of finally pinning Johnny Gargano. To all doubters, critics, and to the trainers and "insiders" who claimed Matt cannot do it and does not have what it takes, this is Matt's answer to you. A PPV match, hailed as perhaps the best match of any kind in company history, that saw Matt Cross steal the show and emerge victorious.

Tito Santana won a battle for wrestling legends of all kinds, especially the 1980s, with a victory over "Late Nite" Nicki Valentino. Nicki had his fanny pack, zubaz style trunks, and even forced our ring announcer to do an oldschool ring introduction, complete with Madison Square Gardenstyle bell ringing. Nicki also had his steal chain stuffed into his boot, nearly pinning Santana with the weapon. As Nicki went for the Figure Four Leglock, insulting Santana & Greg Valentine both by using their former trademark move, Santana small packaged Nicki for the win.

While Krimson wasn't successful against Jason Bane, his two disciples came up huge. Jason Gory is the new PWO Television champion. Michael Facade had the title won for the third time in the past year, yet was robbed again. With the referee's eyes on Bobby Beverly's shoulders during a Facade bridging suplex pin, Gory punted Facade below the belt and stole the pin and TV Title, bringing it to Krimson's camp. What will the Dead Wrestlers Society do with a title belt? Also, Kirst was successful in defeating his former partner Corey Winters. With that momentum, the DWS was so close to reaching their ultimate goal and if not for the freakish power and determination of Bane, no doubt would have gotten the job done. How will Krimson react to these Wrestlelution results?

The Sons of Michigan survived three challenging teams to emerge as champions still under elimination rules. The newest internet sensation in wrestling, "Handicapped Hero" Gregory Iron, fresh off of his endorsement from CM Punk, pinned Bryan Castle to eliminate he and partner Brian Bender first. Iron's partner Hobo Joe was pinned by Flip Kendrick of Aeroform after a shooting star senton, leaving Flip & partner Louis Lyndon with The Sons (N8 Mattson & Ben Boone) as the final two. A splitsecond mistake by Aeroform, accidentally knocking Boone into the ropes on a pin attempt, gave the conniving champions one opening to capitalize and steal a win with a pull of the tights. The Sons are still champion by Aeroform, much like their ally Facade, are arguably the rightful winners.

Bobby Shields' bullying tactics of the gullible lovable loser Ben Fruith came to a head. After pushing, slapping and even spitting on Fruith, Ben had had enough. Thinking back to the advice and pep talks by people like Gregory Iron, Hobo Joe, and Greg "The Hammer" Valentine, Fruith fought his heart out, kicking out of one of Bobby Shields' Body Bombs and countering the second into the Fruith RollUp for a win that even surprised Fruith himself. The Wrestlerama Trophy, symbolizing the best moment in Fruith's career and life, is now back in his own possession.

Special women's action saw Portia Perez return to PWO for the first time in a year to pin young rookie from the Ring of Honor Academy, Veda Scott.

Top to bottom it was a live professional wrestling supercard with something for everyone that will not soon be forgotten and you can catch it whenever you want on GoFightLive.tv at the following link http://www.gfl.tv/Events/Fight/Wrestling/PWOWrestlelution4Overdrive/1055

ROH Press Release:

Ring of Honor officials are excited to announce that they have come to terms with Davey Richards and that the current ROH World Champion has agreed to extend his existing contract.

Richards, who captured the ROH World Title from Eddie Edwards at "Best in the World 2011", has been a part of Ring of Honor since 2006 and, in addition to reigning as the current World Champion, is also a 2Time ROH World Tag Champion alongside first, Rocky Romero, and then Edwards.

Ring of Honor is fortunate to have a competitor as gifted as Davey Richards as part of the fold." Said Jim Cornette, "As World Champion, Richards is a fine representative of what ROH is all about, especially as we head into the Sinclair Broadcasting era this weekend in Chicago Ridge!"

Richards is set to defend the ROH World Title against former champion Roderick Strong this Saturday night, August 13th, when we return to Chicago Ridge for our very first SBG TV Tapings! Tickets for this event can be purchased right here in the ROH Store (http://www.rohstore.com/index.php?dispatch=products.view&productid=201) and click the link (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zHDGjOaDuXk) for Davey's thoughts as we begin this new phase for Ring of Honor.

AS I SEE IT 8/8

<h3>AS I SEE IT
Bob Magee
Pro Wrestling: Between the Sheets
<A HREF="http://pwbts.com">PWBTS.com</A></h3>James Haase, better known as J.T. Lightning, who was an independent wrestler and promoter of Cleveland AllPro Wrestling for several years, died on August 4 at age 41 after a long battle with cancer. Hasse ran Cleveland AllPro Wrestling shows for some 17 years

He continued to run Cleveland AllPro Wrestling shows even during his long battle with cancer, and actively followed and commented upon the wrestling business until his ilnness had worsened to the point that he had recently been placed in hospice care.

Many in WWE and independent wrestling have offered their sympathies, including the following:

CM Punk tweeted his condolences, stating that JT Lightning was one of the first to book matches anywhere with Punk against friend Colt Cabana.

Bull Pain said "I am at a loss for words and really don't know what to say, but when I think of you the first thing that pops in my mind is friend, respect, talent and all around great guy. A pleasure to have in the locker room and a super talent to be in the ring with."

Ring of Honor's Cary Silkin shared the following: "We at Ring of Honor are very saddened by the loss of JT Lightning. He was always a gentleman and an all round good guy. J.T. always was helpful to everyone in our journeys to Cleveland. We will all miss you."

Every midAugust, I remember a sad anniversary.

On August 18, 2005, that CZW wrestler Christopher "Chri$ Ca$h" Bauman Jr. was killed as the result of a motorcycle accident near his home. Bauman had been riding a motorcycle on Ellis Street in Glassboro, NJ when a Ford Taurus turned in front of it from Higgins Drive, striking the car on the driver's side of a vehicle driven by Daisy Gwin of Glassboro, NJ.

Bauman Jr., 23, died at the scene, as did his cousin 27 year old Jeremy Bauman, 27, of Franklinville, NJ the driver of the motorcycle. Gwin, 68, of Glassboro, died en route to Kennedy Memorial Hospital in Washington Township, NJ.

Chris was always genuinely friendly in a way that a lot of wrestlers aren't, but had the wild side we all had at age 23. He was a nice young man, in every sense that the phrase used to mean; and always felt obligated to call me "Mr. Magee" when I came to a show (even when I told him he didn't have to), would
always say hello when I saw him at a CZW show and tell me he'd seen something or another on my PWBTS.com site.

Bauman worked for CZW from 2001 through 2005, with many nonCZW fans even taking notice of him at Cage of Death 5 in his absolutely psychotic ladder match with Blackout's Joker (who left the promotion shortly afterwards to serve in the US military over in Iraq for one of his tours of duty). The oddest thing is that this match wasn't even supposed to happen in the way that it did; as it was originally scheduled as a tag team bout, involving Deranged and Azriael, who were working the Jersey All Pro Wrestling show in Rahway, NJ, then come down to Philadelphia for CZW.

But in an almost unprecedented moment for those who know CZW... the show was actually running ahead of schedule. As a result, Deranged and Azriael were not yet at the building. Another version of the story had the two calling the building, telling CZW they were just leaving...and were told not to bother, because they'd never make it in time. In any event, this forced the promotion to go ahead with a singles ladder match, which turned out to be the best thing that could have happened, as it made two stars for CZW in one night with Cash and Joker nearly stealing the entire show. Psycho spots in this match included Cash bulldogging Joker while his head was inside a rung of a ladder off the ropes onto a chair, a top rope superplex onto a ladder stuck at a 45 degree angle into the rungs of another ladder; ending with one of the sickest spots I've ever seen in my years of shows at the ECW Arena, as Joker hit his Joker Driver (tiger driver from an electric chair position) off the top of a high ladder with Cash through a table for the pin.

Cash also main evented Cage of Death 6/War Games, as part of the babyface Team Ca$h (Nate Webb, Sexxy Eddy, Cash, JC Bailey) against heel team (turned babyface and heel again) Blackout (Ruckus, Sabian, Kingston, and Jack Evans. As usual, the match featured the daredevil spots for which Cash was known throughout his alltooshort career; including dumping Jack Evans via backdrop off the COD to the floor, and giving Sabian a Cashflow off of the scaffold through four tables, landing in the second row of the ECW Arena.

All I could think when I heard the news four years ago was: God...Chris was easily young enough to be my son. Sons aren't supposed to die before the parents...or their contemporaries. At the same time, I can't imagine Chris as a 40 or 50 year old. His spirit was too free and wild to have ever been anything but young.

Chris will be remembered again this year at the Chri$ Ca$h Memorial Show 2011 on September 10 at the ECW ArenaPhiladelphia with the main event a Champion vs Champion Match of current BJW Heavyweight Deathmatch Champion Ryuji Ito vs. CZW Ultraviolet Underground Champion MASADA.

Until next time...

Coach John Wheelock barked at us. "Okay Guys, drop down and give me six pushups." I thought, "Oh man this is tough." as I dropped down on the old sticker patch that served as our 7th grade practice football field in Canyon, Texas. I could hear big Birch Campbell holler back, "Oh no, coach, not six pushups."

I thought, "Terry will never be able to do this," but he did, not only in John Wheelock's seventh grade football team did he follow in my footsteps, but in amateur wrestling, high school football, college football, pro wrestling and even on to becoming the only ever younger brother of a champion to hold the NWA World Heavyweight Championship.

I have often thought how proud my father would have been if He could have been here to see Terry defeating Jack Brisco in Miami, Florida to become NWA World Heavyweight Champion.

I had the opportunity to tell Terry just how I felt at NWA Legends FanFest in Atlanta, Georgia

8/11 AOD Present Only The Strong Survive

We are just under three weeks away from the next event in line in the Alliance of Defiance's reign over CWE! For the first time in almost a year a member of the CWE roster fired back a successful mission when "Hotshot" Danny Duggan jumped the hurdle that was Raven and won back his job on the roster after being fired by AOD leader TJ Bratt. Now after much demand the company returns to the North End of Winnipeg, perhaps the most successful neighborhood the stars of CWE competed in during the company's two and a half years existence. Wrestling debuts at the Polish Fraternal Hall on the corner of Mountain and Arlington on Sunday, Aug 28th!

Sunday August 28th Winnipeg, MB

Location: The Polish Fraternal Hall (768 Mountain Ave.)

Time: Doors Open 7pm, Bell time 7:30pm.

Tickets: $15 in advance, $18 at the door

Advance tickets available at: Advance Tickets Available at: Rudy's Video (668 Sheppard St.), Blade Hair Design (31341 Henderson Hwy),

CWE Tag Team Title Match Main Event

CWE Tag Team Champions Team Impact w/Lacey vs. Former ROH World Champion Roderick Strong & AJ Sanchez

The Alliance of Defiance used some dirty pool when TJ Bratt used his authoirty to strip AJ Sanchez of the CWE Tag Team titles at Extreme Consequences. Bratt claimed that when Sanchez and Rhyno won the the tag team titles it was an impromptu match and was not a signed or agreed upon title match by the AOD`s Team Impact. Claiming to be a "fair man" Bratt offered Sanchez a rematch with a partner of his choosing this time with the titles being on the line. Sanchez selected former ROH World champion Roderick Strong, a man that took him to the limit when he was CWE champion just a week before Roderick won the ROH championship. Sanchez has had many opportunities against Impact with Impact using questionable means to avoid Sanchez winning the championships with different partners. Now with one of the hardest hitters in pro wrestling on his side can Sanchez finally win the tag team titles once and for all?

Moses Luke & Sabretooth vs. "The Murder City Saints" Nate Hardy & Darian Karisma

The AOD has taken the war to CWE but for the first time two men hailing from the same company the AOD came from hit the ring and it wasn't to attack members of the CWE roster but surprisingly the Alliance of Defiance. Nate Hardy and Darian Karisma were both considered the two top stars in Manitoba not performing for the company until two months ago they made a shocking debut attacking the two largest men on the roster in Moses Luke and Sabretooth. Last month Hardy and Karisma repeated those same actions but explained that due to the Alliance of Defiance people where they came from had a bad reputation within the business and with these fans when in fact they the quite opposite of them and they actually appreciated and respected the fans of professional wrestling that supported the product. Stating they were the best tag team from where they came they were coming to CWE to test themselves against the most in depth tag division in the province. An angry TJ Bratt said they would have that opportunity on Aug 28th when they will challenge Moses Luke and Sabretooth.

#1 Contendership for the 123Approved.ca Open Rules Title North End Street Fight

"Beautiful" Bobby Jay vs. "Misfit" Mike Mission vs. "Big" Cliff Coleone vs. Cory Diamond

The open rules titles has quickly earned the reputation of being the "tough guy's" title with championship bouts being contested under some of the most violent and brutal matches on any given show. Champion Darren "The Bomb" Dalton, has a hardcore wrestling reputation dating back over 14 years across the country so it will take a pretty tough man to take that championship belt from him. His next challenger will be decided in a street fight to assure his next challenger is tough enough for the task! Former champion Bobby Jay looks to earn a rematch for the belt he lost to Dalton. Having developed a more aggressive mean streak this year, it is highly likely that Bobby Jay is the favorite going in. "Big" Cliff is fresh off a loss to Dalton in a first blood match where he proved he was able to go toe to toe with the champion and take him to the limit. The veteran Diamond and rookie Mission are both looking to find a permanent fixture on the roster and a big win here can just do that. Just like any given night in the North End this will be a fight to remember at The Polish Hall!

Also scheduled to appear, "Hotshot" Danny Duggan, 123Approved.ca Open Rules champion Darren "The Bomb" Dalton, Billy Blaze, Tyler Colton, Tommy Lee Curtis,"The Infamous" Steven Styles, the debut of TCW champion Ra' am Dante, Brian Rich, "Pimp Daddy" Rick Matthews, Matt Fairlane, Zack Mercury and many more!

Among her accomplishments during subsequent years was coholding the NEO Tag Team Championship with partner Nanae Takahashi during late 2009. Kana is currently part of an ongoing tournament in SMASH to determine their first Women's Champion.

Huge ROH Match Announced

ROH sent out the following press release today:

It is a rivalry that has raged in for months all across the country, in venue after venue, on DVD and iPPV, and now the issues between the Briscoe Brothers & The All Night Express will hit broadcast airwaves when Ring of Honor comes to Chicago Ridge, IL on August 13th to tape our very first TV for the Sinclair Broadcasting Group! From Atlanta to NYC and even the last time we were in Chicago for "Supercard of Honor VI", Jay & Mark Briscoe, Rhett Titus, & Kenny King have done their level best to eliminate one another and in the process have spilt blood, put one another in the hospital, and destroyed copious amounts of ROH property. But that is not what ROH officials are expecting out of their meeting on 8/13.

"We know that the Briscoes and ANX have their issues," stated Executive Producer Jim Cornette, "and we'd be stupid not to know we are putting these two teams in a highly combustible situation. But we also know that these are four of the most talented wrestlers you'll find, two of the strongest teams fighting today, and that's what this is about for Chicago. There will be no weapons, no blood and guts. These four men are going out there to showcase tag team wrestling, and that is something Ring of Honor prides itself on doing better than anyone else! And under threat of serious fines, or potential suspension in the case of Jay and Mark; that is what the Briscoes and ANX are going to do in Chicago Ridge!"

Jay & Mark Briscoe vs. The All Night Express of Rhett Titus & Kenny King! It all goes down August 13, 2011 at the Frontier Fieldhouse in Chicago Ridge, IL when ROH tapes its first set of SBG Television. Tickets are still available to see this great tag team bout as well as 3 separate World Title bouts: http://www.rohstore.com/index.php?dispatch=products.view&productid=201
